Whew, it’s been a whirlwind of a week for me and I’m still kind of dizzy just thinking about it. Been a roller coaster of emotions, so I’m not gonna reflect too much here.
Projects
Still chugging along at RotTM’s sixth chapters with a few more sections outlined, and I also finished the outline and began writing for Kaos’s Spite’s third episode. Perhaps the biggest thing, though, is that I finally launched my art gallery on here this past week! You can find it here if you haven’t seen it yet, and once I spruce up my diary page a bit, I should be good on my major Neocities pages for now!
On another note, though, I’ve picked up yet another project—an archival-related one, in this case. Both Glitter Force dubs are getting pulled from Netflix in about three weeks at the time of writing, and I’m in a frantic haze and downloading everything I can of them before they go away for preservation’s sake. For those unaware, Glitter Force was the heavily-Americanized English dub for two Precure seasons, Smile and Doki Doki, and while it was incredibly flawed and a product of a time that should’ve died off long ago, it is still a part of Precure history and needs to be preserved nonetheless, if only so we can learn from Saban’s mistakes. Plus, most people seem to think it’ll be alright so long as the English version is on torrents and streaming sites and ignoring all the other stuff that’ll get lost with it—namely the various non-English dubs produced under the Glitter Force banner, the audio described version, and the subtitles—and the archivist in me is losing sleep over that, so I had to take up the mantle.
So far, I’m about halfway through the first season of Glitter Force (AKA the first half of Smile Precure), and I’m aiming to be done by tomorrow or the day after at the time of writing. After that, I’ll move onto the second season (AKA Smilepre’s second half) and then to Glitter Force Doki Doki. My poor computer is gonna be working overtime with all the downloading it’s doing.
How’ve you been, Tilde?
Eh, up and down. The past weeks being so high-intensity and it closing in on that time of month has left me a while bundle of nerves and emotions, and the intensity of working on a very time-sensitive archival project is definitely getting to me. I’ve had moments where I’d have to avoid looking at my computer because I’d have panic attacks over the downloads going to slow and not being able to preserve it all in time, and I haven’t been able to think about anything other than archival this past week.
On the bright side, I went out driving again and went a lot further, even driving onto a main road without panicking! I even filled up a car’s gas tank! I definitely feel like I’m coming along with my driving, and it’s also super relaxing which helps with my nerves.
